TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
Aurora College started as NSW's virtual selective school servicing rural and remote students in Stage 4 and 5. It has grown to encompass a non-selective Stage 6 cohort.
The aim is to allow students to enjoy a depth of study that was not previously available to them.
Lessons are delivered online synchronously to students in their school, by teachers in similar settings.

If you have a 5 period day you may have instances where classes in years 7-10 have less than the required number of periods needed for Aurora. This means students will need to come out of other subjects so you will need to spilt one or more lessons from a different subject.

Home schools could predetermine which subject(s) to use or alternatively can wait until the timetable is constructed and the student would come out of the class that best lines up with the unlinked Aurora period(s).
Home School Classes
In the example below, both English and Maths have 8 periods and have been linked to the Aurora Pink group like so:
However, Science only has 5 periods meaning there are 21 total periods assigned to Aurora rather than the required 22. You can see how this looks when the classes are added to the Master grid (F11):
After adding the rest of the classes in year 9, Edval has put line 2 in the empty Aurora spot:

E10 could move a group class into the vacant spot which is acceptable. If this happens then an anchor class can be used for linking to the Aurora group. For anchor classes please see the KB doc called E10 - How to: Set up anchor classes to influence structure. If you need any help with this please send us a ticket

The home school can pre determine which class is best to run in the Aurora spot if they so choose. If that is the case then they would have to manually move that line/group into the vacant slot and follow the instructions below for that class
A dummy class can now be created for one period on the associated line in Class data (F6). and then linked to the Aurora group:
The newly created class now needs to be added to the Master grid (F11). To do this; click on the new class and press "Spacebar" on your keyboard. Click on the line it is missing from then hit Spacebar again. Or you can now simply drag and drop the class from the grey column to the desired location.

You have now successfully added all required periods to fill the Aurora complement and are ready to move onto creating your Science practical lessons
